9U-10U PROGRAMS (BIRTH YEARS 2016 - 2015)

OVERVIEW

At the 9U and 10U levels of play, emphasis is placed on further developing the technical and tactical skills players learned at the 8U level, including dribbling, passing, receiving, and ball striking. Players will continue to explore the pitch with the ball at their feet as much as possible.

  • Sessions will continue to focus on 1v1, 2v1, and 2v2 activities where players will further develop their intuition to manipulate the ball and make quick decisions for the benefit of their team.
  • Exploration of the "tactical" side of play will continue where players will further learn positions, structured plays, and how to play together as a team.

PROGRAM SPECIFICS

EPSC coaches are licensed staff members who follow a play-train-play-train model and teams will participate in the Twin Cities Soccer Leagues (TCSL) Red, White, and Blue leagues.

  • The 9U and 10U programs are designed to be an introduction to our older competitive programs.
  • 7v7 Games (6 outfield players and 1 goalkeeper)
  • Emphasis is placed on the player's development first rather than the score of the match.
